The Jeddah chapter of the Muslim Service Society, a Kerala-based NGO, recently organized a function to honor toppers in this year’s Class XII examinations from higher secondary schools in Jeddah affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The Kingdomwide topper in humanities Rabeeha Abdul Raheem, a student of International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), Ahmed Siyad Nadir Kutty, the topper among boys of IISJ and Noura Salim, who came No. 2 in humanities at IISJ, were among those honored.
IISJ Principal Syed Masood Ahmed presented the prize for Rabeeha to Salih Kavot, while S.D. Moorthy, consul for social welfare at Jeddah Indian Consulate General, and Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic Managing Director Abdul Rahman Faeda gave away prizes to Nadir Kutty and Dr. Salim, parents of the other two top performers Ahmed Siyad and Noura Salim respectively.
Jeddah MSS President Mohammadali Askar chaired the meeting, which was opened by Consul Moorthy. Syed Masood Ahmed, Faeda, Noufal Master, Ameerali P.M, Abdul Majeed Naha, Salah Karadan, Majeed Ponnani and Laila Sakir gave speeches. Sattar Master delivered an educational awareness lecture.
MSS General Secretary Zakir Hussein Edavanna welcomed the gathering and Treasurer C.V. Abubakar Koya gave a vote of thanks. Ayisha Anam supervised a variety of cultural programs staged on the occasion.
Top performers in examinations from classes VI to XI among children of MSS women's wing members were also honored in the function held at Sharafiya Impala restaurant auditorium. They included Baseema Abdul Gani, Winsa Abdul Kabeer, Ribina Riyas, Shada Shamsuden, Hadeer Ameer Ali, Shahnas Najmudeen, Mohammed Wasil, Dina Fathima, Minhaj Alavi, Aashil Rahman, Rawda Assainar, Lamiya Basheer, Saheen Zakir, Nawal Salah, Imad Alavi, Asheel Roshan and Fathima Nihala.
